Your Home Could Be Making Your Asthma Worse...

How To Allergy & Asthma Proof Your Home!

If you have asthma or allergies, you need to make some major changes in your home...because your home not only could be making things worse, it may be one of the main culprits in your asthma! Learn how to restore your home to "safe haven" status with this Special Report.

If you have asthma, there is a very good chance that your asthma is caused by,or made worse by, allergies. IIn fact, it’s estimated that 75 to 80 percent of people with asthma have an allergic component to their asthma.

You may take allergy control medications as part of your overall asthma control regimen. Problem is, many of these medicines have side effects, such as drowsiness, fatigue, dry skin and so forth, which can cause problems. So it’s wise to take action to control the amount of allergens in your environment.

When you breathe in an allergen, your immune system overreacts because it thinks the allergen is dangerous. It pumps lots of chemicals into your system, which make your airways and nasal passages swollen and inflamed.

The muscles in your airways also tighten, the air passages get narrower and you have trouble breathing. This is the Early Stage of an asthma attack or episode.

About 30 to 50 percent of people with asthma also get these symptoms again about six to 10 hours after they breathe in an allergen. This is called the Late Stage or Late Phase reaction.

Our home is supposed to be our safe haven. Unfortunately, for most people with asthma and allergies, there are things in their home that cause problems for them, ranging from runny noses to full-blown asthma attacks. I speak from personal experience when I tell you that you've got to get control of the allergens and environment in your home in order to have any chance of returning it to safe haven status.

There have been studies performed which show improvement in asthma symptoms in both adults and children when basic allergy abatement measures have been performed. In other words, if you are truly serious about improving - perhaps even eliminating - your asthma or your child's asthma, and finally liberating yourself from the fear, anxiety, and dependence on meds and inhalers - then you need to get your home in order.

It’s definitely worth it to take some time to objectively assess your home and take measures to remove or reduce the allergens, irritants and other environmental factors that may be making your asthma worse.

Knowledge Is Power

But where do you begin? How do you return your home to "safe haven" status - without spending a huge amount of time or money?
